SHUVONNE BERRY, OWNER AND BAKER.
Growing up in Southampton County, Virginia, Shuvonne cannot remember a time when she was not cooking as it has always been a love of hers. In 1998, she decided to cultivate this love by enrolling in Johnson & Wales University. It was there that her baking and pastry professor saw a unique talent and encouraged her to pursue it further. At that moment her love for cooking would turn into her passion for baking.
After she graduated, Shuvonne continue to study the arts of cooking and baking by working in Hotel kitchens and bakeries back in her hometown at Fredericksburg, Virginia.
In November 2010, Piggy’s Baby Cakes was established, a cake business created in the memory of her maternal grandmother, Lillian Virginia Boone Davis. Better known to Shuvonne as “Piggy”.
Shuvonne now resides in Stafford, Virginia with her two loving sons, Jonathan and Joshua. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and sharing the love of baking. Order your wedding, birthday or celebration cakes from Piggy’s Baby Cakes to make your special occasion perfect.
